Solutions October 2010
Does our bottom line look big in this?
We can't deny it, MGI Perth has put on a bit of weight...but we promise it's in all the right places.
Many of our clients will have heard about our recent merger with Ord Nexia. The merger has increased our capacity in auditing, corporate services and corporate tax, meaning the firm can now offer a local, full service alternative to the big national and international firms.
The difference is, of course, we still deliver the same personalised MGI service.
Click here for more information about the merger, and here to read our press release.
Please don't hesitate to contact us on 08 9463 2463 if you have any queries. We are as always, only a phone call away.
SMART MONEY: Your Super Life Cycle
We came across a special article in the Australian Financial Review that discusses the super life cycle at various stages of your life from 18 to 80 years of age.
To make the most of superannuation, you should regard it as a lifetime experience. That's because within this experience is a super life cycle loaded with various age dates that are significant for most of us. It could even be as young as 18 or 25 for the child who inherits a parent's super as a pension that will see them through university. Or it could be 50, 55 or 60 if you are a super saver wanting to maximise your retirement nest egg, or it could come late at 60 or 65, or even 75, for a working retiree.
An important aspect of super is knowing what can happen at different times of your super life cycle and then taking advantage of the opportunities. Even if you are not sure what to do, knowing a significant date is approaching should encourage you to research and seek advice so you don't miss any potential benefits or tax concessions.
This liftout is an interesting read, and a timely reminder to proactively plan your super time line. You can't afford to wait until the last minute to take advantage of opportunities that may present themselves.
